- Xuan—HF studies with the first order ECCE tracking performance
- Simulation setup:
- 10x100 GeV e-p collisions from Pythia 8 simulations
- include detector responses: momentum and vertex resolutions from ECCE tracking performance, assume 95% reconstruction efficiency
- Analysis cuts: 0.2 GeV low momentum cut and DCA cut
- Results:
- D, B mesons and Lambda_c ReA vs z projection
- D mesons ReA vs z projection in different pseudorapidity bin
- There were questions on the ECCE tracking detector setup. We will leave the discussion to the tracking working group meeting.
- Q: what are included in the background
A: 12 kHz minimum bias p-p collisions
- Q: Any PID cut?
A: true PID is used.
- Q: topological cuts?
A: DCA matching cut is applied
Comment: suggest vertex matching cut (cos(theta) cut) and vertex quality cut
- Q: other energy options for simulation study?
A: 18x100 GeV or higher. May consider 5x41 GeV, but it could be difficult for B reconstruction
- Raymond— jets study from ORNL group
- interests: pT broadening, ReA, dijet/diHadron/jet-hadron correlation, etc. in the forward region
- developing full simulation (Fun4All + Pythia 6) for jet study. Timing-Tracking Layers are also included in the simulation to study the effect on jet reconstruction
- Early jet performance studies from the full simulation include JES, JER, and eta resolution
- Details of the simulation study can be found here: https://indico.phy.ornl.gov/event/38/contributions/131/attachments/222/760/CalorimeterWorkshop_2021March15.pdf
- Comments: energy scale study for each calorimeter is also important
