Update on the simulation campaign schedule

• 10M event production this week. The simulation group is looking for user feedback including missing information in the output files and any bugs
• The simulation group is working on the latest default detector setup with Github branch name: June-2021-Concept
• 3rd Simulation workshop on July 8th. The simulation group is looking for input from the physics working groups:
  • how the user access data
  • physics measurements and code required

Configuration files from the SIDIS group 

• PythiaeRHIC configuration tuned by Elke Aschenauer to match HERA data
• output files with and without smearing are also included

Collecting Physics simulation information: Please send the information to Ping and Wangmei by Friday (06-25-2021)

Discussion

• Rosi and Raymond: definitely take advantage of the SIDIS group configuration files for jets studies. First look at the statistics of the jet in different pseudorapidity and Q² ranges.
• Xinbai: simulated 180M events for HF study. currently studying eta and pT cuts. May present some initial study in the next meeting.
• Concern raised on 100M events for HF study in the full simulation production
  • Comment: background study is valuable but time-consuming. 
  • Suggest applying filters in the physics simulation and focusing on HF signal study
