Description

The gradient expansion is the fundamental organising principle underlying relativistic hydrodynamics, yet understanding its convergence properties for general nonlinear flows has posed a major challenge. I will review what has been learnt about the gradient expansion by studying the Bjorken flow and then discuss first results on its divergence for more general longitudinal flows. Based on 2110.07621 and an ongoing work.
