Description
A wide variety of interesting physics questions, when formulated with lattice field theory or Quantum Monte Carlo methods, suffer from the sign problem. The sign problem prevents, for example, a first-principles calculation of the nuclear equation of state from QCD, as well as the real-time dynamics of many-body systems. I will present in this talk a general method for taming the sign problem, as well as current efforts to understand high-density and real-time phenomena.
