Recent measurements in heavy flavour and the future of heavy-flavour jets

by Antonio Carlos Oliveira da Silva (University of Tennessee - Knoxville)

US/Eastern
Description

Heavy-flavour quarks are considered ideal probes to characterize the Quark-Gluon Plasma (QGP). Due to their large mass they are produced in the early stages of ultra-relativistic heavy-ion collisions and, therefore, they experience the whole evolution of the system.

Jets from heavy flavour can provide complementary information to the measurement of hadrons and leptons from heavy-flavour production. In this seminar the recent measurements on heavy flavour and the future of heavy-flavour jets will be presented.
