10:31:41 From Wouter Deconinck (he/him) to Everyone: another meeting where the organizer may want to change the setting to "mute new participants on entry" :-) 10:37:57 From Wouter Deconinck (he/him) to Everyone: Q: Would it be possible to ask the project for a fixed 'current' link to a machine-readable csv version (not pdf or xlsx) and versioned 'archive' links for the detector parameter tables on the detector menagerie? Maybe GD/I task. 10:41:14 From Ralf-Christian Seidl to Everyone: so this meeting is not altering times? 10:42:13 From Cheuk-Ping Wong to Everyone: Could you record the meeting? 10:47:31 From John Lajoie to Everyone: Agreed with Silvia - we know the schedule and the time we want people to block out, so we need to update Indico. That should communicate the meeting times effectively going forward. 10:49:02 From Wouter Deconinck (he/him) to Everyone: (my question above does not need verbal attention in the meeting, just wanted to highlight it as a request) 10:49:53 From Or Hen to Everyone: Thanks Wouter. It’s noted and will be further discussed with the SC and project. 10:51:15 From Ralf-Christian Seidl to Everyone: I understand that not every convener needs to attend every meeting, but essentially blocking out certain people all the time is quite discriminatory. I would strongly suggest to also have rotating meeting times for this meeting. 10:56:48 From Daria Sokhan to Everyone: I agree with Ralf, this is an international project and we should make an effort to accommodate constraints of people in different time-zones, not just East Coast 10:57:33 From Or Hen to Everyone: Thanks Rolf. We are still getting going and the current meeting is in place exactly to provide this input. We will discuss this again with this context in mind. 11:01:50 From Silvia Dalla Torre (INFN-Trieste) to Everyone: in case we need longer lever-arm, this is something important already bu July, if possible 11:24:31 From John Lajoie to Everyone: Is everyone else seeing Frank’s screen? Or is it just me seeing a blank screen? 11:24:49 From Carlos Munoz to Everyone: just you ;) 11:24:54 From Silvia Dalla Torre (INFN-Trieste) to Everyone: I see it nocely 11:27:52 From John Lajoie to Everyone: Got it now - thanks 11:30:12 From Or Hen to Everyone: Frank, can you upload the slides later? https://indico.bnl.gov/event/15791/ 11:47:42 From Oleg Tsai to Everyone: need to leave to another meeting now 11:51:14 From Alex Jentsch to Everyone: Wouter is the hero we needed to stay on schedule. 11:54:56 From John Lajoie to Everyone: That’s a good idea Wouter. We did something similar when we validated geometry for ECCE campaigns. 12:20:56 From John Arrington (he/him) to Everyone: I also fully support Thomas' statement. It's very easy for questions about the design to be pushed off when facing deadlines, and while it may be that they can't be fully answered immediately or aren't the highest priority, it's critical that they be factored in the discussions as soon as possible. 12:21:30 From John Lajoie to Everyone: Speaking just for myself - hell yes, there is a lot that has be be developed and evolved from the reference design. Anyone that thinks that a detector designed in 8 months has every base covered is crazy. BUT what Or said is also right - we are in a box of cost, schedule and risk. Our solutions to fix the problems with the reference detector have to respect these constraints, and that might mean we can’t let the better be the enemy of the good enough. Get used to the idea that both perspectives might be partly right, and we need to work together to make this all work. 12:21:34 From John Arrington (he/him) to Everyone: And the conveners have to be clear that these are important issues when they are raised, even if detailed studies aren't the top priority 12:27:44 From John Lajoie to Everyone: I apologies my batteries are dying I will have to go soon. I do want to emphasize again that the SC members NEED to hear from you, and this discussion is extremely valuable! 12:27:59 From John Arrington (he/him) to Everyone: I agree with John's statement; while we have deadlines to deal with, it's important to have a clear idea of all future issues to be addressed. Delaying these issue CAN lead to them being forgotten or unaddressed due to later deadlines. Prioritization is needed, but we have to make it everyone should be raising issues and conveners (and others) should be folding these into the plans, even if they aren't the highest priority at a given time. 12:28:37 From Spencer Klein to Everyone: Several of us need to leave now, for the delayed diffractive/tagging meeting. 12:31:42 From Kondo Gnanvo to Everyone: I share Bill's comment specially in reference for tracking 12:32:19 From Kondo Gnanvo to Everyone: How much we are losing by loosening the constraints on resolution material budget etc ... 12:32:35 From Ullrich,Thomas S to Everyone: Engineering constraints are important but they are only one part of the effort. The YR requirements are another big one we need to keep in mind. 12:33:27 From Kondo Gnanvo to Everyone: exactly 12:34:30 From Ullrich,Thomas S to Everyone: Great weekend everyone 12:34:39 From Bernd Surrow to Everyone: Have a good weekend
