NOTES ON F4A SIMULATION

First simulation in F4A with the most recent geometry indicates the energy resolution mostly follows expectation between 1-5 GeV and increases above 5 GeV incident particle energy - worse than what seen in the proposal (different geometry there though)

Also not consistent with what is seen in standalone simulations for blocks of this length - there used 3x3 clusters for both 40cm long blocks and 45cm long blocks (also longer)

First F4A simulation with the most recent geometry shows tails in the energy deposition spectra similar to what was seen before

Possible Action Items to understand these observations:

* impact of clusterization - Nico, Tyler?

* different gap sizes - Josh provide model

* different materials in gaps (air, carbon) - Josh provide model

* different block lengths (45.5cm vs. 40cm) - Josh provide model

* impact of phi tilt by comparing an older CAD model from Josh, if it is available

NOTES ON DDHEP SIMULATION

Geometry implemented corresponding to CAD model with parameterization for ML studies

Possible Action items in addition to those on Dmitry slides:

* Check if the most recent CAD model with Josh

* Cross check with F4A performance output - consistent?

* Start implementing the ML optimization strategy: parameters, figure-of-merit, etc.
