Minutes of EPIC Far Forward Meeting 13 Dec 2022 =================================================== Present: Alex Jentsch, Michael Murray, Zvi Citron, Sakib Rahman, Olga Bessidskaia Bylund, Michael Pitt, Yuji Goto, Eden Mautner, Po-Ju Lin, Jeetendra Gupta Agenda & slides at https://indico.bnl.gov/event/17941/ News: Alex ========== Simulations ongoing, Nothing relevant for far forward yet. . Alex has analysis script ready to go. It will made available to anyone who wants it. R&D project for Roman Pots Reconstruction funded! Looking for 1-2 partial postdocs or students to work on this for the next year. >>> Todo: contact Alex or Michael, if interested. Engineering focussing on main detector Hadron lattice (far-forward) undergoing some updates/refinements. We Will report when we know more. Collaboration Meeting Jan. 9th to 11th@ JLAB, https://www.jlab.org/conference/EPIC Four 15 min talks from our group Todo: >>> Please send slides around to the working group no later than Jan. 2nd. Cnveners must sign-off. >>> Todo: Relax after a very hard year and great work. Next meeting is January 3rd! Other business ============== Olga asked about starting analysis. Event samples need to be in HEPMC3. Ogal is looking at DVCS on the pion. But it is good to look at events with pi0 in final state. (Check on Bill Li on this) Some of these states involve photons. >>> Need a proper photon reconstruction in B0 and ZDC. Olga sees photon at Eta 4.2 to 4.6 she is not sure where they are being reconstructed. Sakib put the B0 calorimeter geometry as for the ECCE proposal. Olga finds photons at eta=4.2. This may well be inin the forward EMcal. Once backward DVCS produced Alex will let Olga know. Note reconstruction of electrons in the end-cap calorimeter is having trouble. Hard to test pure calorimeter electrons versus tracking electrons. Both seem to be having problems. Should take a month to fix. Next meeting Jan 3rd 2023, 9am Eastern.
