ePIC Jet Reco. Task Force Discussion Notes Derek Anderson 03.21.2023 Meeting start: 3:02 PM ET Updates From Kevin: - Pushed several large changes to epic-analysis which should be merged soon (PR #242) - Summary of changes: > Created a 'KinematicsJet' class which stores kinematic information of jets > Consolidated all methods from the general kinematics class into relevant locations > Added pointers to KinematicsJet objects in main analysis classes > Goal is to have a dedicated kinematics class for each type of analysis (SIDIS, DIS, Jets, etc.) - Brian asks if input to epic-analysis will be similar to the old delphes-analysis framework (i.e. will epic-analysis read in ePIC simulation output?) > Kevin confirms this - Derek asks if using the ReconstructedParticles class in EICrecon to store jet info will work with epic-analysis? > Brian responds that it should, pointing out that Chris has consciously built PODIO integration into the framework Derek asks Zhongling about status of storing jet constituents in ReconstructedPartice containers - Zhongling points out that this was done last week and ir ready for review in PR #488 > Derek will bring up that PR #488 is ready to review and merge during S&C meeting on March 22nd - Zhongling points out that we should document this behavior > Brian agrees > Derek offers to help with documentation FastJet Contribution Discussion - Derek asks group what FastJet contributions we would like to include in eic-shell to pass onto Wouter > Brian asks if user picks what FastJet contribs to install or if they install the whole library at once > Kolja points out that you install the whole library at once - Kolja clarifies that Wouter wants to know what FastJet Contribs users are interested in/use so that he knows how often to check for updates - Group discusses and comes to the consensus that we should (1) install the most current (ca. March 23rd, 2023) version of the whole library, and (2) just go from there. > If users request more up-to-date versions of something, we can relay that to Wouter Open Discussion - Brian asks if there's any word on the anticipated start date of the simulation campaign. (Is it still the end of March?) > Derek states that he hasn't heard otherwise... Meeting end: 3:29 pm ET
