ePIC Jet Reco. Task Force Discussion Notes Derek Anderson 03.28.2023 Meeting start: 3:02 PM ET Minimum Jet and Constituent pT - Xuan Li recommended sticking to 0.2 GeV/c and |eta| < 3.5 for tracks - |eta| < 3.5 corresponds to a minimum Jet energy of about Emin = 10 GeV * sin(2. * atan(exp(-3.5))) Emin = 0.6 GeV (roughly) - Brian suggests sticking to 1 GeV for min. jet pT > Rationale: we don't need 1-track jets - Derek will push changes to default parameters after PR #488 gets merged > (should be this week) Testing EICrecon jets - Derek thinking to prepare a plugin/macro to manually cluster jets later this week > Then will plot manual and EICrecon output on top of each other > Output to check: * Jet pT * Consituent momentum fraction - Brian already has code to do this, so he can modify that to work with EICrecon jet output > Will modify it to plot the manual and EICrecon output on top of each other - Brian and Derek will iterate more offline Example Code Snippets - Code which tests EICrecon output will be a good example to include on wiki page - Derek asks if there's a place to store example code for ePIC > Kolja and Brian suggest reaching out to Markus Wiki Page Reminder - Brian asks for elaboration on wiki page - Derek explains that wiki page will detail: * How to interact with EICrecon jet output * Example code Snippets * Links to meetings * And any other pertinent info Upcoming Jet Meeting - Brian intends to hold a jet meetings in 1 or 2 weeks > We'll give summary of what the task force did > Kevin will give summary of epic- analysis - Brian points out that we should make sure task force meetings are documented > Asks if there's a task force category on the wiki > Derek says he doesn't think so, and suggests that the jet page might be a better platform for linking to jet task force meetings Meeting end: 3:22 (or so) pm ET
