Journeys beyond the Standard Model in the flavor and dark sectors

I will present recent results in rare and semileptonic b-hadron decays from LHCb, including new legacy results from BaBar. I will also discuss ongoing LHCb efforts on long-lived particle searches, including installation of a dedicated detector, CODEX-b, in a shielded region inside the LHCb cavern, at high transversity to the beam line.
