% ------------------------------- % LFHCAL Simulation Notes % Peter Steinberg, Derek Anderson % 10.02.2024 % ------------------------------- - Peter making strong progress on benchmarks - Worked out thorny issues with automating things with snakemake - ETA is a couple more days at current pace - Derek would like to revisit HGCROC emulation in near future - Detector & Sim WG offered support on development work - Proposed group touching base on topic after some pTDR items have died dowm, e.g. at the end of the month - Emulation not expected for pTDR - Other notes from Derek: - Track Split/Merge algorithm now in main! - See PR#1406 https://github.com/eic/EICrecon/pull/1406 - Output collections are labeled `*SplitMergeClusters*` - Please take a look and test!! - ClusterRecoCoG now produces **multiple** cluster-particle associations - See PR#1396 https://github.com/eic/EICrecon/pull/1396 - Each contributing "primary" particle is assigned an association with a weight = fractional energy contributed primary - e.g. If a particle contributed 50% of the cluster energy, it gets a weight of 0.5 - NOTE: currently algorithm just selects "generatorStatus == 1" particles - TODO: this should be checked to confirm if it's good enough for short term - Peter pointed out that this won't catch secondaries which contriute a lot (e.g. splash from the beampipe) - In current scheme, one can: (1) Check contributions from associated particles; (2) Any mismatch necessarily must be from secondaries (and maybe others); (3) Then you can work through the relations to investigate the secondaries - TODO: discuss with production WG about having a sample with the full tree available as part of the pTDR sims
