Description

Weekly ePIC TOF Coordinators/DSL meeting on cost/schedule and plans

Zhangbu Xu
    • 11:00 11:20
meeting with TIC and Project 20m

      To summarize:

      1. We bring service from both sides
      2. Engagement ring is determined by geometry of MPDG and requirement to hold SVT
      3. FTOF inner radius would be symmetric and 10.5cm (Wei, could you confirm?)
      4. Simulation of the impact on angle resolution
My understanding is that Shunichiro has some results, it will be good to share with us before Monday meeting.
      5. Readout chain layout, heat dissipation and other issues, any updates?

      Dear Zhangbu,

bilateral meetings between the Project and the individual DSCs are ongoing.

They are dedicated to detailed technical matter like mechanics, cooling, cables and their rooting, ...

The majority of the details are not of general interest.
Nevertheless, TIC is interested to learn about the topics discussed and highlights.
We would like that you give a short (~10min) report about the meeting dedicated to TOF
at the coming TIC meeting on October 21st?

      Thank you for kindly confirming.

      Best greetings, Silvia

      Dear all,

just to add the last piece that was discussed to the short summary:
      Material at https://indico.bnl.gov/event/24949/

Decision: we bring services in from both sides

Urgently needed: a layout of the readout chain (with options)
definition of dimensions, number and heat dissipation of the different pieces in the readout chain
Update linked excel-sheet for services and cooling
One needs to fix the requirement on the material requirement --> simulations

To check where is the engagement ring sitting, would be good to align it with the Micromegas or not --> simulations

Define the inner bore of the FTOF (beam pipe is asymmetric, so if one wants a symmetric bore it follows the largest dimension. Recall that we need (at least) 5 mm space around the beam pipe).

      Best regards, Rolf
