      Dear Zhangbu, dear Satoshi,

           as you know, the European Strategy for Particle Physics

      (https://europeanstrategyupdate.web.cern.ch/welcome)
      has started a new upgrade process: EPPSU 2025.
      Inputs from the community are solicited (https://europeanstrategyupdate.web.cern.ch/call-input),
      with dead-line on March 31st, 2025.

      Documents of interest for ePIC in preparation:
      - a document about the DIS physics case ("Future Opportunities with Lepton-Hadron Collisions");
      - a document by the EIC Project Management, with focus on the collider;
      - a document dedicated to the novel detector technologies in ePIC
      ("Enabling future detector technology within ePIC at the EIC");
      - a document about physics at EIC by the EICUG is also been considered.

      I am writing to you about the document "Enabling future detector technology within ePIC at the EIC".
      A draft frame of the document is in attachment. The content and goal of this document
      is made explicit in the few-line abstract. Please, refer to it.
      The novel technologies are a selection of those used in the ePIC detector.
      I am asking you to write up to half a page about the AC-LGADs.
      The text has not to be deeply technical. It is should include:
      scientific context,
      objectives and elements of novelty,
      methodology,
      readiness and expected challenges.

      As examples, the draft texts for HRPPDs and SiPMs for Cherenkov application are already in.

      The document is written using overleaf and I will send you an invitation with writing privileges.
      Each detector technology has a dedicated file in the overleaf project. The name of the files is self-explanatory.

      Please, add your text in the appropriate file by January 10th, 2025.

      Thank you for your kind collaboration.

      Best greetings, Silvia

      Dear Zhangbu, Satoshi,

      the project would like to encourage you collect your ideas about building the staves for the TOF
      and creating a flow chart that visualizes the your ideas as to what the individual steps are to build the staves
      and where.
      The reason we ask for such an flow chart is to understand what steps are involved and in particular what
      may need to be shipped between different production sites and where these production sites are.
      Once you have such a flow chart we can organize a meeting with the project to discuss the implications
      it may have with regards to shipping, overhead, spare parts, expected failure rates and the like.

      thank you,
      Beni
