Understanding the Simulation Output

US/Eastern
Description

This 2-hour intermediate tutorial is designed to help you understand reconstruction output variables in the ePIC simulation. You will learn how to trace the relevant detector configurations, data models, and algorithms used in the process.

Preparation:

  1. We will use Google Colab (Python) to access rootfiles. No setup is required beyond having a Google account. Alternatively, participants can set up their own local Python or Jupyter Notebook environment and install uproot and xrootd.
  2. We will not be running eic-shell or any simulations during this session. However, we recommend that participants review previous tutorials on simulation and analysis to familiarize themselves with the detector description and reconstruction output.

We will be running commands listed on the tutorial page.
