Discussion on the PbWO4 crystal EMCAL
- The LYSO option is still set as the default in DD4HEP. Yuji will follow-up with the Taiwan group to get it updated and changed to PbWO4 ~ 10cm in length.
- Updates from most-recent beam tests will be shown (hopefully) at the next meeting.
- The pre-TDR also needs to be updated with the correct information related to the PbWO4 crystal configuration.
- Additionally, we need to understand how much transverse space we need to capture the 4mrad cone of photons allowed by the magnet aperture.
Discussion of Lambda reconstruction
- Not enough people working on the study were present for a robust discussion. There is still seemingly a discrepancy between the results from EICrecon and the ones performed standalone. We need to understand what is different between the two sets of simulations.
- Ralf commented that the issue is related to the pointing resolution for the photons, but we really need to confirm this.
- A dedicated meeting may need to be called to ensure all parties are present.
- Additionally, the charged lambda decay channel should also be looked at (i.e. how many of those events hit the ZDC, what to they look like in the ZDC - is it possible to reconstruct them?).
- It’s clear only the decays happening after B1APF will make it to the face of the ZDC.
SiPM-on-tile HCAL discussion
- There is presently no information on the HCAL in the pre-TDR. Miguel will work on getting this done soon.
- Miguel talked with Yulia on the HCAL integration + spatial constraints and work is underway to understand cable routing to ensure we obey the safety margins near the beam pipe, and have the ability to service the detector.
