Minutes
- Updates and Announcements:
- Paperwork: Statements of Work need to be developed soon.
- Timelines: HV ISEG has arrived at ANL. New connector for SFIL coming soon. Milestone by August 22 included HGCROC vs CODA. Merlin tasks have been updated.
- Electronics:
- Aram gave updates on the converted boards, with the discussion centred on Maria’s yellow and blue boxes on slide 8 of her System Testing presentation. Aram needs a week to develop that circuit, as the current boards output negative signals (see below). The SiPM connector boards (pink box) should be ready by the 3rd week of June, with the amplifier/summing boards (orange box) coming a week to 10 days later. Long Lemo cables will be ordered.
- The work is in coordination with Norbert, who wants the summing board to be modular for testing. Norbert reminded us that a positive signal if required for the HGCROC SiPM input. The HGCROC has 64 channels x 2 ASICs and an FPGA reads out the HGCROC. FPGA firmware is ready and used for HCAL@BNL cosmic tests last week. Henry asked is signal shaping is possible and Aram said yes.
- Dates to remember: KEK tests (June 11-17), ESB for Baby BCAL (June 30), Project Review (August), Beam Tests at CERN (August), ESB Test Article (November), Electrical Engineers Meeting (December?, NASA, ORNL, OSU, Regina).
- Reports:
- R&D Day (April 16-17): Maria reported at that meeting that the BIC eRD115 milestones were met, and that the cosmics setup at ANL with the SFILs is working.
- Thermal Simulations: Shefali and Wouter continued their work on thermal simulations for a) the whole BIC and b) ESB. Aluminum was assumed as material for the AstroPix trays and Nitrogen gas in the trays. CAD drawing has 50 SiPMs and will be updated to 60 per side.
- KEK Beam Tests: Bo Geyong gave a presentation on planned beam tests at KEK (0.5-5 GeV). He gave details on the calorimeter prototypes and MPPC readout. He also gave an update on the light guide transmission tests and the .
- Any other business:
- Aksaya gave a brief report on PCB board layout and fiber/SiPM tests at Manitoba.
- Action Items:
- Zisis to check acrylic info with Ross Machine shop.
- Zisis to send BCAL thermal pad info to Manitoba.
- Zisis to send Tegan’s acrylic light guide test results to KNU.
- Next meeting: May 27. This will again be a joint meeting between Systems Testing and ESB & DAQ. Presentations and updates are always encouraged.
