From: eic-projdet-tic-l-request@lists.bnl.gov on behalf of Silvia Dalla Torre Sent: Thursday, June 26, 2025 12:05 PM To: eic-projdet-tic-l@lists.bnl.gov Cc: matt posik; Hartbrich, Oskar; Garg, Prakhar; Lajoie, John; John Haggerty Subject: [EXTERNAL] [[Eic-projdet-tic-l] ] preTDR draft Version2.1, deadline is approaching Dear DSLs, this is a gentle reminder: the dead-line for the Version2.1 text is on July 11th. Let us recall you of making use of the general prescription and the outcome of the Version1.1. review (see the old e-mail here below). It is important to be clear that the audience for this document is review committees, who will use it to understand exactly what is being proposed to be built. As such, it should have technical details such as dimensions, masses, channel counts, and so on. It should demonstrate by whatever means possible (simulation, bench tests, beam tests) that the detector component performs as required by the physics. (To be noted: although the primary audience is review committees, it is also extremely useful to us when we build this detector and need reference material for ourselves and future collaborators.) There are a number of things that should not be in this document, because they will be documented elsewhere, and putting them in two places makes it very difficult to keep them synchronized. 1. History. It doesn't matter how the design evolved, only what the final design is. 2. Management. The TDR is not the place to document the manpower requirements or the organization chart. 3. Cost and schedule. The cost and schedule will be documented in the project plan, and having information about it here just leads reviewers on a chase for inconsistencies. In case a plot or a piece of text cannot be completed by July 11th, please enter in the overleaf document a placeholder (for plots) and mark TEXT TO BE COMPLETED for the missing text. This will help us understanding the document status. Please, do not forget to add the github reference with the plot metadata! This e-mail is signed by John and Silvia. As you know, John Haggerty had joint the TC- Office and one of his main responsibility is the preTDR, a responsibility he shares with Silvia. The site pre-TDR_TC_Comments - Google Drive is the review repository. Please, find there the review outcome for each individual subsection. You also find a file with General Prescriptions, which apply to all subsections. For your convenience, here is the direct link to the General Prescriptions: General Perscriptions - Google Drive . If clarifications are needed, please address your questions via e-mail to the whole TC-Office. For the review outcome dedicated to your own subsection, please address each single point by adding comments directly to the files in the repository. This feedback is provided in view of the preparation of the preTDR draft Version 2, which is due by July 11th, namely before the Summer ePIC Collaboration meeting. More information on a few specific points of general interest will be provided at the TIC meeting on May 12. Thank you for your precious collaboration.
