GENERAL
  • No Barrel HCal meeting next week as ePIC Collaboration Meeting is ongoing.
  • Future meetings will resume at 9AM due to the preferred timings from many.

TDR STATUS

  • Stefan and Murad have made changes according to the comments received. Most of the edits are made. Figures and their captions need to be reviewed.
  • Overleaf to the TDR: https://www.overleaf.com/project/667588746c6114e26ddbced3
  • Reviewed the figures from TDR:
  • Figure 5 needs to be updated (current one is probably from Run 23)
  • Figure 7 is a duplicate (remove this one)
  • Figure 8 (taken care of )
  • Figure 9 and 10 — good [Fig 9 with only BHCal, Fig 10 with full ePIC detector simulated]
  • Fig 15: good (caption does not distinguish the panels)
  • Fig 16: Add more text on this, increase the size of the fig, Consider to crop and put the third figure below to be able to increase the size.
  • Fig 17: good
  • Fig 18: good (Murad raised the question, why is the JES-1 is momentum resolution? There is a typo: replace ECal to EMCAL)
  • Fig 16, 17, 18, —placeholders
  • Olaiya had updated the figure including the E=20GeV. (This feature is still under investigation. Leave this comment for reviewers)
  • Stefan pointed out—In new figure, below 0.2, there are data points which were not there before—Should we update the figure now?
  • Derek: New simulation with better geometry (post GDML)
  • Jump at lowest energy is not understood,
  • Olaiya would make the new plot with all the added energies and cluster cut and the new plot will be added in the next iteration.
  • Previous figure had a cut of ‘requiring non-zero energy in the HCal to improve the training statistics.
  • Decided to keep the old figure for now since we don’t understand all the features of the new one.

PROTOTYPE STATUS AND PLANS

  • Use RCDAQ in VNC for the test stand at hcal lab as it helps for coordination.
  • Anjaly will put together some more information to the slides that Eric sent around.
  • As of now, 4 SiPMs are back to functional after Martin Norbert, Stefan and Anjaly spent a few hours on Tuesday debugging as Eric had difficulty getting the signal this week.
  • Eric: Should we reorder 120 SiPMs for the prototype as the reverse polarity fix is not ideal??
  • Steve offered help with this if needed.
  • Martin and Norbert worked on getting TOT and TOA distributions and codes were updated to the roc_analysis directory.
  • Martin worked with Olaiya to get the setup at NH functional.
  • Martin’s request: Leave the hcal lab setup alone during Wed and Thur next week.
  • Stefan met with Eric and his students last week on arranging the tiles on the prototype in high bay.
  • Norbert : Consider alternative connectors like MCX connectors for the ePIC Barrel HCal.
  • Steve will take lead on comparing the connectors and see what is the best one w.r.t cost and efficiency.

SIMULATION STATUS AND PLANS

  • Derek: Working on updating and correcting the place holder figures.
  • Murad raised his concern on the bug in the GDML file and how we approach this. (Needs further investigation)
