----------
Roman pots scattering chamber and arrangement of the sensor packages.
Attendees: Alex, Yulia, Jonathan, Chang, India, Karim, Ron
Topics:
Primary discussion was on the scattering chamber, movement system, sensor arrangement, and feed-through for the Roman pots.
-
The scattering chamber has been increased in vertical size to accommodate the full RP sensor plane arrangement to get the needed acceptance.
-
We had a discussion about the arrangement of the sensor packages to minimize motion stages, simplify the feed-through concept, etc. (see figure attached).
-
The approach of using a “modified” L-shape, where the vertical rectangular sections have a 90-degree rotated stave “appendage” to get the horizontal portion of coverage. Can this be cooled? To be answered.
-
On the side of the scattering chamber opposite of the ZDC side, we could have the horizontal wing be completely independent with a single horizontal motion stage. This would require a horizontal extension of the scattering chamber to accommodate such a change. Is this feasible?
-
- The scattering chamber still has to accommodate the needs for the movement system and feed-throughs for the signal/power cables. The current feed-through ports will not work for these purposes.
