Description

At present, it is clear that some kind of new physics is needed to explain the open problems in particle physics, nevertheless we do not know which kind of beyond the standard model theory we need to build. Furthermore, no other experiment has seen any indication for new physics, neither low-energy, high-precision experiments nor high-energy colliders such as the LHC. Thus, how much room is left for new physics to hide? In this seminar, we will try to approach this question from the model-independent point of view of effective field theories, discussing the complementarity between different experiments. Our final goal will be to present an updated global picture, highlighting in particular the role of neutrino physics into this framework.
