DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Zachary Marshall (LBNL)\n\nATLAS\, one of the large-
general purpose experiments at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN\, is prep
aring major upgrades for the coming High-Luminosity era. The order-of-magn
itude growth in computing demands presents major challenges\, but also sig
nificant opportunities for re-thinking and re-designing some of the long-s
tanding standards. This talk will discuss some of the planned changes\, in
cluding ways to take on sustainability and open science. Looking further f
orward\, we will consider what challenges await us with the future collide
rs currently under development\, and discuss how the HL-LHC developments p
ave the way for the future of HEP\, and more broadly scientific software a
 nd computing.\n \n \nJoin videoconference\n\nhttps://indico.bnl.gov/even
