BHCal Meeting, 2/13/2026

sPHENIX R&R:  Ed O’Brien gave update last night at sPHENIX GM:  all detectors will be disassembled by September, 2028, consistent with our earlier planning

Highbay 2/13/26 Martin

10 Gbit readout, running into roadblock, Norbert brought his set-up (10 Gbit), but didn’t work with KCU card; Miklosh made another firmware version, all non-BNL cards work fine, all BNL cards don’t

Now:  card will go to Miklosh to figure out; in meantime 1 Gbit fall back

Found two more cards; one has interface broken

While Norbert was here took couple of 10 Gbit runs, have in hand, working on new decoder

Norbert:  did Oleg talk to Paul Orphin about space assignments in HighBay, HFJet is desiring space (currently sitting at 1012).

Jan:  will help with CALOROC simulations, Ravi will also help with that; Ravi and Jan are in touch.

(Cf. google doc)

Jan:  calibration:  located latest simulation production so can start with neutron and charged hadron simulations as we discussed yesterday.

Olaiya:  timing:  still working on it

David:  one slide update:  ML for calibration with continuous energy distribution:  reported last time that with cheating version (when reporting Ekin to network) worked, but not without:  almost no clusters

Now:  using more files, only taking particles that have associated clusters; now technically working, reproducing roughly continuous distribution, but still artifacts, but encouraging.

In the slide:  all particles, not just neutrons

Murad:  no news from Eljen.
