Summer School on Jet Physics and AI Methods in Heavy-Ion Collisions

US/Eastern
Lehigh University

Lehigh University

Description

I am happy to welcome you to the summer school on Jet Physics and AI Methods, held from July 20–24.  This will be an intensive, hands-on introduction to modern AI techniques for jet physics in heavy-ion collisions. It is open to students, post-docs and early-career researchers, with participation capped to maintain an interactive and effective learning environment.

The format combines lectures from ML/AI experts with guided work sessions, allowing participants to immediately apply new ideas in a collaborative setting.

The school is intentionally small and interactive, with time built in for discussion, troubleshooting, and shared problem solving. Each day includes provided lunches and coffee breaks to encourage informal conversations and collaboration, and will end with a brief reflection session on what worked, what didn’t, and what to try next.

Participation is limited, and attendees will be selected from applicants, with decisions communicated on June 1.  There is a registration fee of $200.
