Minutes
- Beam Test: Summary after the Hall D RC Meeting:
- Maria showed the slides that she and Zisis presented at the Hall D Run Coordinator Meeting on February 26. A brief discussion followed on the DAQ and specifically the backups of the data. This will be continued at next week’s meeting, on March 10.
- Baby BCAL Boards: Status and Goals for Marc:
- Halen showed the progress at URegina in testing the SiPMs on their mini boards, plugged into Aram’s amplifier/summing boards. Maria asked about the power draw; Halen answered 2.5 A at 3 V, and will check this. Each amp/sum board has +/- 5 V, bias (40.7 V), and ground on a quad pin connector. The boards heat up and need air cooling. This will be studied further. Light guide tests will also be completed this week.
- Dynamic range Simulations: Jared ran 10k events in Geant4, using 4 SFILs. The geometry is divided in 4 layers and 4 grids (rows and columns). He used 0.424 T for the PS magnet and ran energies from 0.9-1.4 GeV (GlueX low energy running in April/May). He showed the energy deposited and where the shower max is. The numbers can be divided by 0.012 to get MIPs. Norbert asked for more energies to be run, for a more detailed look.
- AstroPix: Status and Goals: Bobae summarized the status of the AstroPix with main goal to integrate H2GCROC with the NASA A-STEP FPGA board, for the AstroPix readout. 3 layer-9chips ready to test. V5 delivery is in August or later, and ETC for v5 is expected towards the end of the year. August will be see beam tests both at Hall D/Jefferson Lab and CERN.
- AOB:
- The first shipment of URegina equipment (20 SiPMs on mini boards for SFILs, MCX-LEMO cables, LGs, cookies) will go to ANL early next week. The second shipment (amp/sum boards, cables, fan conduits, etc) will be sent directly to JLab around Mar 16-18.
- Next meeting: Mar 10 with emphasis on DAQ.
