Oliver Witzel, Siegan, [HET Seminar] Lattice QCD and Gradient Flow
Small Seminar Room
Lattice Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) is a framework to perform ab initio
calculations of the strong interactions with systematically improvable
uncertainties. Precisely determining the lattice scale is one of the
crucial steps. Introducing gradient flow scales provided tremendous
improvements and are part of state-of-the-art scale determinations
today. Gradient flow is, however, much more powerful and can also be
used e.g. as an alternative renormalization scheme. I will demonstrate
calculating renormalized quark masses using gradient flow. Eventually
gradient flow has even more to offer and I will highlight determining
bag parameters describing heavy meson lifetimes and give an outlook on
possible different applications also including analytic calculations in
the continuum.
