In the production the following structures have been implemented: - 9 small-size structures to study the technology and the performance (see below) - ETROC/ALTIROC friendly sensors - EICROC friendly sensors - 1 large strip sensor - one large size 500 um sensor All of these are designed in two variants: A) with coupling over the entire active area of the metal pad (similar to what has been done in RSD2), B) with coupling only under part of the electrodes, leaving the bonding pad “elevated” (to reinforce the area used for the wirebonding or BB, as it looks like a weak point of the RSD2 production) Gain layer: - shallow carbonated boron implant with the CBL activation scheme - deep carbonated boron implant with the CBL activation scheme

Begin forwarded message: From: Silvia Dalla Torre <Silvia.DallaTorre@ts.infn.it> Subject: EXT: background challenges, progress of the studies reported at TIC Date: March 11, 2026 at 8:14:09 AM EDT Dear DSLs, dear El/R-O/DAQ WG conveners, at the TIC meeting on February 23rd we had a kick-off of the detector studies for the challenges posed by the background. For you convenience, here is a direct link to the slides presented on February 23rd: https://indico.bnl.gov/event/31599/contributions/120324/attachments/68421/117639/TIC_20260223.pdf Following the kick-off, you are invited to report on the progress of your studies by presenting a few slides (a couple of slides can be enough) at the TIC meetings on March 30th and April 13th according to the calendar here below. March 30th: El/R-O/DAQ WG FF Low Q^2 taggers Luminosity system SVT MPGDs April 13: EEEMCAL BIC FEMCAL nHCAL Barrel HCAL LFHCAL You are requested to kindly confirm your contribution. Thank you. As anticipated, PID DSCs will attack the studies as soon as the dedicated reconstruction is sufficiently advanced and they are requested to focus on speeding up the development of the software tools for this reconstruction. Best greetings, Silvia

A shorter version of preTDR? On Mar 11, 2026, at 1:26 PM, Silvia Dalla Torre <Silvia.DallaTorre@ts.infn.it> wrote: Dear DSLs, the submission of papers to the NIMA special issue "The ePIC Detector and Science Program at the Electron Ion Collider" is opening on March 15th. The DSC contributions are expected to be a substantial component of the effort. Please, discuss the matter within your DSCs and prepare 1 slide that presents the paper-planning of your DSC. Send me these slides by April 10th. At the TIC meeting on April 20th we will analyze and comment together about the merging planning. Thank you for your kind collaboration, Silvia
