NIM A article
- Detector contributions coordinated by detector subsystem collaborations, physics contributions by the physcis working groups.
- For us, this is the exclusive, diffractive, and tagging working group - https://indico.bnl.gov/event/30775/ (example Indico)
- Aim is to have contributions "ready" by August.
- preTDR material + additional technical details, studies, etc.
- Each subsystem will have its own chapter.
Testbeam
- July 22nd to 27th -- shared time with ATLAS HGTD, we will not have exclusive use of the telescope (maybe not even at all).
- EICROC0 firmware fix in progress with IJCLab and Omega - this is needed to make any progress on an EICROC setup for the SPS beam time.
- Once fixed, need to calibrate ASIC and then setup external DC-LGAD trigger to begin testing.
- If EICROC is not ready for SPS, we will likely have to cancel the testbeam, as the project will not pay for more beam time for JUST AC-LGADs without a clear, obvious need (pending analysis of recently completely and on-going campaigns).
Roman pots/OMD/B0 staves
- Discussion about needed signal and power lines in PCB stave -- only need the ones relevant to the LPGBT communication, adding the ones for the FPGA readout will make the PCB unnecessarily larger.
- Electronics meeting on Friday at 11am EST.
- For the vacuum-based detectors, need to use low outgassing PCBs -- likely Kapton. Need to get cost estimates once we have a design.
- Not needed for B0, so perhaps we use conventional PCB materials for the B0 to reduce cost.
- More discussion needed, but we expect to have a preliminary design in the coming 2-4 weeks.
ZDC
- Sebouh and Sean working on the DD4HEP geometry change to match the preTDR.
- Will look into the reconstruction to ensure things look okay, and address issue from email on March 13th along with Sean.
- Preliminary comparisons of HEXSPLIT geometry and square tiles shows only marginal decrease in performance for photons, but still within the requirements.
- Worth the reduction in complexity of the system.
Final Comments
- ZDC preliminary design review is next Monday, April 20th
- Meeting on Tuesday, April 21st is cancelled due to many of us being in DC
