Description
Abstract:
Precision physics at upcoming facilities (EIC, EicC, SHiP, and IceCube) requires a highly accurate treatment of heavy-flavor mass effects in deep-inelastic scattering. In this seminar, we present the first complete calculation of heavy-flavor contributions to both unpolarized and polarized DIS at next-to-leading order (NLO) in the massive ACOT scheme. In the unpolarized sector, we focus on the subleading structure functions F4 and F5, showing their critical role in tau-neutrino interactions and where the zero-mass approximation fails. In the polarized sector, we present the first massive NLO results for the polarized structure functions g1 ... g7, aimed at constraining the nucleon spin structure. Finally, we discuss their numerical implementation in for future global analyses.
