Chui-Fan Kong, IBS [HET Seminar] Supernovae as laboratories for new physics

US/Eastern
Small Seminar Room

Small Seminar Room

Description

Core-collapse supernovae provide unique laboratories for probing new physics under extreme conditions. In this talk, I will discuss two cases. First, I will show how the energy-dependent time delay of supernova neutrinos can probe the origin of neutrino mass. Second, I will explore how the circumstellar medium (CSM) can constrain new particles and interactions through their effects on observable electromagnetic signals. Together, these studies demonstrate the potential of supernovae as powerful probes of physics beyond the Standard Model.
