Short update on impedance

• Gang showed results at a previous IR meeting - no major red flags with RP configuration he got from Karim.
• Karim will supply Gang with the 275 GeV location for the planes for another simulation.

 

Geometry updates in DD4HEP

• Alex is still working on adding the current CAD model into DD4HEP and checking the acceptances, et al.
• Goal is to evaluate the acceptances with each subsequent change:
  • First update RP layout.
  • Next, add additional material into the layers (Copper cooling/RF shielding).
  • Then, add outer rim of copper (affects low-pT acceptance, but how much?).
  • Update beam pipe and scattering chamber dimensions.
  • Add basic flanges and bellows.

 

Additional aspects of the vacuum system which require further follow-up

• Various transitions between pipe section, bellows, flanges, etc. will all have impact on detectors (how much depends on the item in question) --> this needs to be evaluated in the simulations, as well (Alex).
