Minutes

  1. Announcements:
  2. Beam Test:
    1. CERN Beam test finished yesterday, students on the way back.  Went well with both ADC DAQ and HGCROC with hybrid summing board. TAstroPix data was taken separately (synch issues), They used their calo prototype, 2 SFILs readout, 3 dummy for shower.
    2. Bobae astropix results: v4 beam test 3 GeV electron beam from KEK beam test. Goals: charge injection circuit and seek per-pixel absolute charge calibration. Carried out dark noise and threshold studies. Extracted the Equivalent Noise Charge (ENC) parameter for the AstroPix. Did a radioactive source calibration. MIP calibration methods (energy, injected-electron) compared. SNR mean value extracted = 57. 7pF injector works as designed. Paper is planned.  Will extract readout speed. Dynamic range a bit squished.  More work will follow.
  3. Electronics Consolidation:
    1. The planned meeting at NASA with all the engineers together (NASA, ORNL, OSU, Hungary) is now scheduled for November 3-5.
  4. Action Items:
    1. Zisis to plan summing board meeting. The goal is to select a design by February 2027.
  5. AOB:
    1. Simulations (3pm EDT) and Hall D Analysis (6pm EDT) meetings today.
    2. Martin’s presentation to DAQ meeting (https://indico.bnl.gov/event/33983/).
    3. ePIC CALO meeting September 16. 1:30pm EDT.  Martin will attend and possibly present.  Maria attends these usually.
  6. Next meetings:
    1. ESB/DAQ next week?
    2. Systems Testing biweekly meeting on September 15.  (Hall D Beam Test, Korean CERN beam test), and following that on September 29 a summary of Baby BCAL Npe and comparison with Korean numbers.)
