Description

In this talk, I will present an overview of recent works on finite-temperature QCD, with particular emphasis on heavy-quark physics.

I will begin with our recent determination of in-medium charmonium effective masses and thermal widths as functions of temperature, and discuss ongoing efforts to extend this analysis to bottomonium using a nonrelativistic formulation. I will then connect these results with our previous studies based on NRQCD and Wilson-line correlators.

Moving from hidden to open heavy flavors, I will discuss how quark-number susceptibilities can be used to investigate the changing degrees of freedom of heavy quarks in the medium. I will present our results for charm and discuss ongoing extensions to the bottom sector, as well as probing less-explored heavy-flavor sectors through charm-bottom cross-correlations.

Finally, I will turn to heavy-quark transport and present our recent determination of the heavy-quark momentum diffusion coefficient in (2+1)-flavor QCD with physical light-quark masses over a broad range of temperatures.
