- UCSC lab will remain closed for some more time due to an issue in the maintenance work
- I discussed with Carl Haber at the FCC meeting, and he suggested we look at US and Chinese companies for the long FPC manufacturing.
"With regard to the 1.2 m flex circuit - such items can be fabricated at CERN and also by a Chinese company we worked with through Altaflex in the USA. We chose CERN because of the radiation hardness of the CERN process - but that might not be an issue for EIC. The LBNL composites shop is also, I think, the only place in the USA where such a long structure could be cocured. " --> does it make sense to engage with LBNL for the FPC?
- Hang-Sheng gave an update on the mechanics, showing that the 2 layer design (which seems feasible regarding the SH thickness) have 95% coverage and 3% material budget. The 3-layer design for 100% coverage would be harder to achieve and have a larger material budget.
We will discuss the 2-layer design in the general TOF meeting, where we can make a final decision on it.
