upgraded to version 3.2 golden release, upgrading to SL7
QuarkMatter ends 5/19 targeting 6/1 for OS upgrades
Network Operations
T3 rewiring and converting to TOR by 6/1 on scheduled
decision to perform replacement of legacy 1Gb of RHIC farm with 28 TOR switches
(excluding 2009/2010 Farm purchases in row 22, 24, part of 23 we expect to retire)
This will coincide with re-IP of all the converted racks to /27 layout (29 nodes per TOR)
HPSS status
RHIC run 2018 raw data taking no issues
review of projections against tape inventory, current tape order, planning future tape orders
General Services
STAR GPFS migration to new hardware, and update to version 4.2
2 x NetApp E5700 at 21 Gb/s (each) approximate 70% faster than old hardware
3 PB capacity, merging /gpfs01 and /gpfs03
currently GPFS is not backed up let us know if something requires backups
NFS support contract ends 6/30/18
home directories will move to the new NFS system the rest will move to /gpfs01
this process will be disruptive and time consuming
home directories will be backed up through NDMP
upgrade NX and upgrade servers to RHEL 7

shared pool is in production and growing as we retire and re-provision hardware
CSI resources
IC expansion in production
CSI proposals were paused because IC allocations seemed oversubscribed
IC expansion is helping and we can again review CSI proposals
