HPSS status

 

RAW data taking for STAR – stopped yesterday as switching over to 27 G for STAR

Two silos have been decomissioned.

Waiting for quotes.

Scheduling to take down 9000 tapes end of July.

 

Working on Media software for STAR, ATLAS, PHENIX requirements.

 

Tapes are down for BRAHMS experiment

For PHOBOS experiment waiting for Peter Steinberg approval .

 

STAR – 2 PB of data taken, production at same rate.

 

 

General Services:

 

Issues with the RCF Mail server. Update next week (no changes in Roundcube web mailserver)

 

The RCF mail server (rcf.rhic.bnl.gov) will be migrated to new hardware/software soon. The frontend proxy will be swapped next week and would be done transparently.

The IP of the new rcf.rhic.bnl.gov would reside in the science zone.

 

 

RACF Linux Farm

 

BNL ATLAS systems upgraded to SL7 early this week
Added to the Shared pool for ATLAS (Row 51)
STAR shared pool is full
By May end all experiments except for PHENIX upgraded to SL7
PHENIX upgrade for SL7  - scheduled for after Quark Matter
Talking to condor developers regarding shared pool
600 switches migration - David Cortijo to help with the migration

 

CSI Resources

 

Stable output 
KNL Bios upgrade next week including submit nodes - upgrade will be done in batches
IC – more tests to follow up
LQCD Late delivery in 3-4 weeks
Belle II delivery in June
