Network Operations

• Arista and Fortigate updates

• Belle II subnet migration out of SciCore planned for December ‘18

• new HPSS movers and fiber for the SL8500 in CDCE

• new high bandwidth SciDMZ/LHCOPN in rack 43-6 (2x40 GbE)

• test NVMe for STAR GPFS in 45-6 (4 x 40 GbE )

• planning ATLAS RHEV dCache and and Ceph

 

Storage Group

• 2PB additional RHIC central storage is in FY 2019 budget ETA is soon (late ‘18)

 

HPSS status

• PHENIX downtime completed, completing extra SL8500 to frame in CDCE (+10K slots)

• migration of LT05 data over next quarter, moving ~10K tapes

• migration effort won’t be disruptive and is necessary to minimize downtime of CFR (5/19)

 

General Services

• plan to update the roundcube webmail next week and offer option 2FA app

• NX version 6 upgrade complete request testing on nx07.rcf.bnl.gov

 

RACF Linux Farm

• data migration complete and ~400 servers began sanitation for retirement excess

• HW may become available internally to the experiments counting houses

• upcoming updates and reboots on a rolling schedule to minimize production disruptions

 

CSI resources

• IC-cluster expansion in procurement

• upcoming updates and reboots on a rolling schedule to minimize production disruptions

 

Services & Tools

• LDAP/Kerberos will migrate into IPA so Keycloak (SSO/AUTH) can replace Shibboleth

• user impact - required to login to gateway and change password (first time only)

• early December (1 month) production infrastructure
