Workshop Home

The aim of this workshop is to bring together the expertise in event reconstruction techniques and machine learning methods collected in the neutrino community. Many of the current and next generation neutrino detectors will have the abilities of fine grained detectors combined with large volumes. This offers unique opportunities but is also a challenge for event reconstruction and physics analysis. Here we want to collect an overview of modern approaches to this task.

We especially encourage young scientist in coming to this workshop to learn about modern machine learning techniques, present their work, and use the opportunity to establish valuable contacts. The first two days (Oct 5-6) will be dedicated to the machine learning tutorials hosted by the Computational Science Initiative (CSI) of BNL. The next three days (Oct 7-9) will be consisted of presentations on the main topic of the workshop, "Event Reconstruction and Machine Learning." A dedicated poster session will be also be arranged for young scientists to present their work.
