The HEP Software Foundation (HSF) has an active working group on "Python in HEP" (PyHEP). The working group brings together developers and users of Python in particle physics to share knowledge and expertise. It embraces the broad community, from the Energy Frontier to the Cosmic and Intensity Frontiers.
The working group has been organizing PyHEP workshops since 2018. The third workshop, PyHEP 2020, was held as a virtual event in mid July, making it possible for scientists worldwide to participate. The organizers had to cap at the impressive number of 1000 registrants, with a rather large fraction of them being students or early career scientists from many different experiments and backgrounds.
In his EIC Software seminar, Eduardo Rodrigues (Liverpool), will introduce the PyHEP working group within the HSF and will provide some highlights from the recent workshop, from both the perspective of the organizers and participants’ survey information.
We will use BlueJeans for the online seminar: https://bluejeans.com/920347364
