We discuss the massively parallel simulation of a digital quantum computer. I map the problem to lattice QCD (LQCD) and demonstrate that the same software framework can efficiently be used for the simulation of a digital quantum computer and LQCD. Finally, we discuss possible optimizations for special cases, most prominently the simulation of graph states in polynomial time.
