Tristan: track jets performance:

  • Jet resolution study using 10x100 GeV ep collisions with 1<=Q2<=100 GeV2
  • Jet R=0.5 cut applied
  • Applied constituent energy fraction (Z) cut to remove single constituent jet.
  • Jet performance up to p_jet=30GeV (momentum resolution and scale, eta and phi resolutions) looks good
  • There are more high Z jets in the truth jets samples than in the reconstructed jets samples
Comments: This may be due to the tight jet radius. Suggest trying out a larger jet radius like 0.7 or 1

Raymond: calorimeter jets performance

  • Calibrations have been applied on FEMC and FHCAL
  • The JES and JER in the forward region look reasonable after the calibrations
  • Suggestion:
    • Work with the Calorimetry working group on calibration in other rapidity regions and centralize the calibration for different working groups
    • Use the Pythia 6 sample for jet performance study but, Pythia 8 in the next simulation production for physics study

Nathan Grau: low Q2 2PC

  • using dihadron correlation to study lowest Q2 jets
  • Boosting for the beam crossing angle is applied in the analysis
  • Clear near-side peak shows up but not the away-side. Need to check on the configuration to make sure certain processes are on
  • Q: is event information such as Q2, x and z stored in the simulation output?
A: x and z can be found in the simulation output, but need to update the Fun4All evaluator to write out Q2

Xinbai: working on dielectric invariant mass distribution, will give an update soon.

Discussion: Any requirements for the backward calorimetry? The backward region will not be the focus of the jet study.
