Facility News and Announcements

  • Indico - creation of local accounts through Gmail, etc will be disabled.  From Jun 1st federated access allowed only through AD, SDCC and InCommon/EduGain
  • Changes for Liaison meeting frequency - alternate options were discussed including for sPHENIX

 

Network Operations

  • CPU racks migrated from B515/CDCE to B725/MDH. Minimal cooling issues
  • Linux farm shipment approx in Feb.
  • NETOPs update - first sPHENIX library pair

 

Experimental Computing

  • EIC  - purchase of HPSS system/webreqs, S3 and HA load balancer
  • Jupyter Federated ID - MFA configuration
  • Invenio - discuss the basic requirements first
  • One account per user for many experiments  discussion  after Federated ID work is completed

 

IT Fabric

  • CERN EOS User Areas mounted on T3 nodes
  • SPHENIX - to prevent STAR jobs interruption allocate additional shared pool nodes - AFS cell update from USATLAS to RHIC
  • HPSS upgrade - file aggregation - user feature

 

IT Services

  • NX patches for different OS tested
  • setting up Mediawiki server
  • sPHENIX Drupal - added editing features

 

Tools and Services

  • Rucio for sPHENIX tested and deployed
