Description

Abstract: The term “reactor antineutrino anomaly” (RAA) was coined in 2011 by Mention et al. who noted that the average of the experimentally determined reactor antineutrino flux at reactor-detector distances < 100 m showed a deficit of 5.7% compared with an improved reactor antineutrino flux model (the Mueller model). Since then, many efforts have been invested in studying the origin of RAA both experimentally and theoretically, in particular, whether the RAA indicated the existence of an eV-mass-scale sterile neutrino. In this talk, I will review the history of the RAA and its resolution after 13 years.
