Progress in science depends on new techniques, new discoveries, and new ideas, probably in that order (Sydney Brenner). Technologies have driven discoveries and changed the world we live in. They emerge from breakthroughs and strongly linked to scientific knowledge. In this talk I will go over our work on several key technologies and their scientific impact and provide an overview of our activities and capabilities in this field.
