Presented our yearly ePIC update at the ACTS workshop yesterday. See slides here.
Main discussion points:
- Acts Gen 1 geometry was not designed to work with cutout shapes like our complex beamline acceptance for the SVT disks. Should work with Gen 3 geometry. See next presentation by Shujie.
- For MPGD digitization, if we want to try the approach in the future where we split the Acts sensitive surface into two, we have to be careful since our readout layers are only separated by 50um. This can cause numerical instabilities in the Navigator
- Several presentations on alignment (and MILLEPEDE integration)
- For track finding in B0, it will be useful to look at what is done for other telescope-like experiments using Acts (e.g. LDMX). We can't copy directly what they do because they make some changes to the coordinate system that would impact the ePIC central detector tracking. But we can use the experience to inform how we want to do the track finding and fitting (KF vs. CKF).
