NewsSpeakers: Austin Baty (University of Illinois Chicago), Dr Shyam Kumar (University and INFN Bari)
Please use this macro (by Stephen Maple) to find the Kinematics of scattered electron:
The electron kinematics calculation is implemented in line 24 and takes the Lorentz vectors of the beam electron, scattered electron, and beam proton/ion as inputs. The required four-vectors can be obtained from the corresponding reconstructed particles. By default,
ScatteredElectronsTruth_objIdx.indexis used to identify the scattered electron, which reproduces the InclusiveKinematicsElectron method. For a more realistic electron-finding approach, replace:
ScatteredElectronsTruth_objIdx.indexwithScatteredElectronsEMinusPz_objIdx.index.ScatteredElectronsEMinusPzidentifies reconstructed particles with a track–cluster match satisfying 0.9 < E/p < 1.2. It provides good performance in most regions, with reduced performance at high inelasticity and near the barrel–endcap calorimeter transition. The Podio-based electron finding is more advanced. -
