Note that you will likely not need a rental car in Davis as the hotels are within walking distance from campus.
- Airplane:
- The closest commercial airport is Sacramento International Airport (SMF). To get from the airport to Davis, one can then either: rent a car, take a taxi or Uber, or take a bus (Yolobus https://yolobus.com/route/route-42b-011523/).
- One might also consider flying to San Francisco International Airport (SFO) or Oakland San Francisco Bay Airport (OAK). From either SFO or OAK you can either rent a car or take the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) to Richmon and that a train (Amtrak) to Davis. The train station in Davis is within walking distance (4-5 blocks) of the downtown hotels.
- Car: For those coming from LBNL or other UC Campuses, or taking a rental car from SFO or OAK.
- Take I-80 East to the UC Davis exit (65 miles from LBNL, 75 miles from SFO, 400 miles from UCLA, 450 miles to UCR)
- Train: (Amtrak)
- There are local “Capitol Corridor” trains from the Bay Area to Sacramento. There is a stop in downtown Davis.
- From Southern California, it is possible to take the Coast Starlight, which also stops in Davis, but it is faster to drive
