Meeting topics:

*Updates from Tonko on EICROC1 testing w/ LPGBT
*Updates on Roman pot stave/module board design
*Updates on lab testing from BNL
*Updates on lab testing from IJCLab
*AOB

Slides from Tonko

  • Common firmware to communicate with both ZCU106 + RBv1 is complete, and working well.
    • EICROC1 and EICROC0A both tested (Alex has slides on EICROC0A); EICROC0 will be tested next week to complete the package.
  • First version of the Roman pots module board design is complete, and initial internal review has been completed. Board will be sent for fabrication in the coming weeks, with 5-10 boards to be produced.
    • Massive effort by Jack Fried, Don Pinelli, Joe Procida, and others probably not listed here.
    • The version is not vacuum compatible, and larger than it will eventually be to support filtering to do necessary testing.
    • Plan is to have 3 ASICs mounted on the boards, and have test sites at BNL and Rice to do electrical testing, and eventually thermal testing.
      • Once initial testing is complete, an assembly should be sent to IJCLab to test with their Peltier setup.
  • For BTOF progress, there is a new DCDC converter board design that looks very nice - needed to solve size issue (height of stack) for the BTOF.

Slides from Alex

  • Showed S-curves and ADC vs. Q_inj plots to do simple tests of the common firmware developed by Tonko.
  • Results indicate the firmware is working well.
  • There was follow up discussion with Adrien and Alex about the jitter and TDC, and the TDC calibration. Adrien shared some slides to show what has found with the TDC calibration and how it seems to affect the ADC. His slides are attached, as well.

Plans for next 1-2 weeks

  • Prithwish and Souvik will work on more careful studies of EICROC0A with common firmware.
  • Alex will hook up EICROC0 to the common firmware apparatus to make sure the common FW is able to work with all current EICROC flavors.
  • Alex will work with Tonko on understanding the external trigger from EICROC to ZCU, such that we can ensure to provide the external trigger signal needed to RBv1 readout, and study the latency when using it with LPGBT.
  • Adrien and Alex will communicate about TDC calibration and perform some tests once the other tasks are complete.
