LODGING
Once you receive a GIS approval notification via email, you can contact the Event Coordinator, Nicole Kelly at nkelly@bnl.gov or (631) 344-3807 to reserve your onsite lodging. BNL Guest House/Apartments, $118/night; male/female dormitories $52/night. A confirmation will be sent via email.
Offsite Lodging is also available at the local Hampton Inn at the NY GSA rate of $136/night. The hotel is located about 15 minutes from BNL and they offer free roundtrip shuttle service to the laboratory as well as the Long Island Railroad (LIRR) Ronkonkoma station. Please contact nkelly@bnl.gov for a reservation and arrange your shuttle service with the front desk.
TRANSPORTATION
The closest airport to BNL is McArthur Airport (ISP). It is located about 25 minutes from BNL. John F. Kennedy (JFK) and LaGuardia Airports (LGA) are located about an hour drive from the site. You can take rail from the airports (JFK Airtrain to LIRR; LGA bus/taxi to LIRR). A Village Taxi office is located at the Ronkonkoma Station for transport to BNL.
If you will require limousine/taxi transportation, please contact nkelly@bnl.gov and include your flight itinerary. All limousines must be announced in order to enter the BNL main gate. Please note: UBER and LYFT services are not able to be cleared. The event coordinator will create a reservation on your behalf at a discounted rate and ensure entry. If you will have a rental car, you will be given a parking permit for the duration of your stay upon arrival.
MAIN GATE ARRIVAL
Upon arrival at BNL, all visitors will be directed to the Guest and User Visitor Center (GUV) located in building 400. You can also obtain your lodging key and visit our 24hr. mini-market in the lobby for snacks and incidentals. If you arrive after 10pm, you will be directed to BNL Police Headquarters to obtain your key. You can then return to the GUV Center for check-in the following morning.
