We were able to get a small block of rooms at the Grand Plaza Hotel Toledo located at 444 North Summit Street for the night of Friday March 7th. To make the reservation call the hotel and use the group name "University of Toledo Midwest Critical Mass", the block rate is $109. Note that this is a busy hotel weekend in Toledo, so we recommend booking as soon as possible. Another option is the hotel we used last time located just down the street Park Inn Toledo located at 101 North Summit Street--as of 1/16 they still had some availability.
To get to the workshop venue from either N Summit Street hotel, head southwest on North Summit Street, take the 1st right onto Monroe Street and, after about 2 miles, make slight left at West Bancroft Street. The Univeristy of Toledo Main (West Bancroft) Campus will be in about 4.5 miles. Enter the Campus through North Entrance, making left from West Bancroft Street to Stadium Drive. Soon, after entering the Campus, you will see McMaster Hall, to your right. This is the workshop venue. Participants should park at either Lot 1N, closest to the McMaster Hall, or at Lot 1S, or at East Ramp Parking Garage.
How to get to the hotel if you drive directly to it from your city?
Participants, travelling to Toledo from Michigan on US-23 S, should take exit 232 on the left and merge onto I-475 E toward Toledo, then take exit 20B for freeway I-75 S toward Dayton/U.S. 24/Detroit Avenue, merge onto I-75 S, take exit 202A toward Washington Street/Downtown, merge onto Indiana Avenue, make slight left to stay on Indiana Avenue, continue onto 11th Street, turn right at Monroe Street, and turn left at North Summit Street.
Participants from Detroit, if they want to stay overnight in Toledo and travel on I-75 S, should take exit 208 on the left to merge onto I-280 S toward Turnpike/Cleveland, then take exit 11 to merge onto OH-25 S/Buckeye Basin Parkway/Greenbelt Parkway, turn left at Cherry Street, and turn right at North Summit Street.
Those, who approach Toledo on I-80 E, should take exit 64 for I-75, keep right at the fork to continue toward I-75 N, merge onto I-75 N, then exit onto Antony Wayne Trail, turn left at South Erie Street, take 2nd right onto Monroe Street, and turn left at North Summit Street.
Those, who approach Toledo on I-80 W, should take exit 71 to merge onto I-280 N toward Toledo/Detroit, take exit 9 for Front Street toward OH-65, keep left at the fork, follow signs for Front Street South, merge onto Front Street, turn right at Main Street, continue onto Cherry Street, and turn left at North Summit Street.
Those, who approach Toledo on I-75 N, should exit onto Anthony Wayne Trail, turn left at South Erie Street, take 2nd right onto Monroe Street, and turn left at North Summit Street.
